It is not surprising, therefore, that the island has six airports, with direct flights from and to the main Italian and European cities. The main airports are Catania, Palermo, Trapani and Comiso. The airports of Lampedusa and Pantelleria are connected with Trapani and Palermo with direct flights throughout the year and with the rest of Italy in high season.
